Hanoi honours outstanding graduates

A total of 382 outstanding graduates from Hanoi’s universities and institutes in 2012 and 24 top scorers of university entrance exams have been honoured at the Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature) in Hanoi.

The ceremony aims to honour students who have gained outstanding achievements in their studies and high results at university graduation examinations in the 2011-2012 academic year.


Of the outstanding graduates, one is the Republic of Korea citizen.


Addressing the annual event, the 10th of its kind in the city, Secretary of the Hanoi Party’s Committee Pham Quang Nghi underscored their determination to affirm themselves in study and social activities as well as their desire to devote to the country.


He said outstanding graduates and top scorers of university entrance exams should be more active at work, in study and activities for the community.


Hanoi will facilitate their study and efforts to devote to the society and wants them to contribute to national development, he added.

The outstanding graduates and top scorers are scheduled to be received by Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan on August 27.


Over the past 10 years, Hanoi has commended 1,080 outstanding graduates from universities and institutes across the city.-VNA
