Hanoi (VNA) – The Hanoi People’s Committee on November 30 signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in health care development with France’s Paris city.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee said that populous Hanoi, as the health care hub of the country, considers health care service a crucial area.

The city is working hard to improve the infrastructure system for the health sector as well as health care staff’s skills, he said, stressing that the affiliation with Paris will help Hanoi develop high-quality health care services.

Hanoi has already prepared financial and human resources for the cooperation programme, he revealed.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Khac Hien, Director of the municipal Department of Health said that the programme will help improve infrastructure system and personnel training, and enhance management capacity for Hanoi Pediatrics Hospital, the Hanoi Heart Hospital, Emergency Aid Centre and Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Florence Veber, Director for International Relations of France’s public hospital system APHP, said that Paris has finished the roadmap and plan for coordination for specific and practical affiliation.

She highlighted the important role of Hanoi leaders in directing sectors and localities to implement the deal.-VNA
