Hanoi inspects preparations for elections

The Hanoi authorities on April 14 conducted districts inspection into preparations for the election of 13th National Assembly (NA) and People's Council at all levels for the 2011-16 term, which is scheduled for May 22.

In Hai Ba Trung district, Ngo Thi Doan Thanh, memberof the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’sCouncil and head of the Election Committee of Hanoi, spoke highly of thedistrict’s preparations for the upcoming elections, urging it toprovide training on examining the elections and counting votes.

Shealso asked the district to organise meetings with voters after thethird consultative conference for candidates to present their plans ofaction.

Also the same day, Nguyen The Thao, member of the PartyCentral Committee, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee anddeputy head of the election committee of Hanoi , inspectedpreparations, including popularisation to raise public awareness of theimportance of election and providing training for election teampersonnel.

The authorities also inspected preparations in the districts of Ha Dong, Hoang Mai, Thuong Tin, Dan Phuong and Hoai Duc./.

Deputy PM works with Mongolian counterpart

The two sides noted that Vietnam-Mongolia relations have seen substantial progress across a variety of fields, particularly since the two countries established a Comprehensive Partnership during General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam’s visit to Mongolia in September 2024.

The official visit to France by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam from September 9-12 demonstrates the close ties the two countries have built and maintained, according to Dr. Sophie Boisseau du Rocher, a member of the Asie21 research group and former researcher at the Centre for Asian Studies of the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI).
