Hanoi (VNA) – Japanese and Korean language programmes will be carried out in some schools in Hanoi in the 2016–2017 academic year, according to the city’s Department of Education and Training.
The move aims to offer students more choices in foreign languages and enhance human resources training quality.
Three primary schools, namely Khuong Thuong (Dong Da), Nguyen Du (Hoan Kiem) and Chu Van An (Tay Ho) will offer Japanese lessons for 3rd grade students as the first foreign language. Students who participate in these classes will be able to continue studying Japanese at secondary level.
Four schools, namely Thang Long Secondary School (Ba Dinh), Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School, Nguyen Gia Thieu High School (Long Bien) and Viet-Duc High School, will teach Korean to 6th grade and 10th grade students.-VNA
