According to VietnamPlus reporters, on the evening of August 1, the main entrance of the Long Bien wholesale market (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) was barricaded so people couldn’t go in.
The market was closed after a female patient named NTC came here. She was a shrimp and fish seller, who regularly comes to Tam Hiep and Long Bien markets to do business.
On July 31, she had a quick test at Ngoc Hoi Medical Station with a positive result. Her RT-PCR test also gave a positive result.
On that evening, the Long Bien market management board decided to close the market. They set up a barricade at the main entrance to prevent vehicles from entering and leaving the market.
Many small traders in the market were caught off guard by this new situation. So they had to leave their goods outside of the market for they couldn’t bring them inside.
Some people even had to transport their goods over the walls of the market because the main entrance was barricaded. People inside the market also had to find other ways to move their goods, in case something worse happens.
