Hanoi (VNA) – The Philippines Airlines (PAL) direct route linking Hanoi and Manila, scheduled to be launched on April 1, will help enhance ties between Vietnam and the Philippines.
The statement was made by Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Duc Chung and Vice President for Sales of PAL Ryan T Uy at a meeting in the Vietnamese capital city on January 30.
Chung said that the launch of the route will boost bilateral trade, tourism and cultural exchange and help Hanoi develop its tourism and trade.
Briefing the guest on the city’s situation, he said hosting Formula One (F1) racing from 2020 will be a chance to attract more tourists from the Philippines.
The Hanoi leader also affirmed that the city will work with agencies and representatives of the Philippines Airlines to facilitate the carrier’s operation in the capital.
Ryan T Uy said that PAL is expanding its operation scale with a 98-aircraft fleet, which is a chance to promote the image of Hanoi to other places around the world.-VNA
