Hanoi marks China’s 62nd National Day

A sports and cultural exchange programme was held in Hanoi on Sept. 26 to mark China’s 62nd National Day (Oct. 1).

At the event, President of the Hanoi Chapter of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association (VCFA) Hoang Vinh Giang congratulated the anniversary of 62 years of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and 62 years of the founding of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

Giang said he was happy at the great successes of the Communist Party of China and China after 62 years and highlighted China’s open-door reform over the past 33 years.

As a member of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, the Hanoi Chapter has a responsibility in building and developing the friendship between Vietnam and China, said Giang.

For his part, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Kong Xuanyou said the Vietnam-China relationship is a friendly neighbour relationship and the two Parties and States have had many activities to fasten the solidarity and fine and sustainable cooperation between the two nations since the normalisation of their relationship over the past 20 years.

He said he hoped the two nations will continue cooperation and development in a friendly and peacefully manner./.
