Hanoi marks China’s 62nd National Day

A sports and cultural exchange programme was held in Hanoi on Sept. 26 to mark China’s 62nd National Day (Oct. 1).

Atthe event, President of the Hanoi Chapter of the Vietnam-ChinaFriendship Association (VCFA) Hoang Vinh Giang congratulated theanniversary of 62 years of the founding of the People’s Republic ofChina and 62 years of the founding of the two countries’ diplomaticties.

Giang said he was happy at the great successes of theCommunist Party of China and China after 62 years and highlightedChina’s open-door reform over the past 33 years.

As a member ofthe Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, the Hanoi Chapter has aresponsibility in building and developing the friendship between Vietnamand China, said Giang.

For his part, Chinese Ambassador toVietnam Kong Xuanyou said the Vietnam-China relationship is a friendlyneighbour relationship and the two Parties and States have had manyactivities to fasten the solidarity and fine and sustainable cooperationbetween the two nations since the normalisation of their relationshipover the past 20 years.

He said he hoped the two nations will continue cooperation and development in a friendly and peacefully manner./.
