Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung presented 100 gift packages to Catholic people with disadvantaged backgrounds during his Tet visits to Thai Ha and Cua Bac parishes on January 25.

He extended his Tet greetings and wishes of good health, happiness, and prosperity to the priests and Catholic followers in these parishes.

He said Hanoi allocated over 400 billion VND and mobilized more from other resources to purchase Tet gifts for over 850,000 poor households, social policy beneficiaries, and revolution contributors.

Later on the day, he visited social policy beneficiaries and war veterans in Ba Dinh district.

He expressed his deep thanks to war invalids and veterans for their great sacrifices and contributions to the nation building and defence and wished them a new year of good health, happiness and wealth.-VNA
