Hanoi officials pay tribute to Lenin

The delegation was led by Ngo Thi Doan Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Council.
Later the same day, another delegation from the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association’s Hanoi Chapter, and the Hanoi National University of Education along with many social and political organisations in the capital also laid wreaths at Lenin’s statue.
Lenin was one of the leading political figures and revolutionary thinkers of the 20th century, who masterminded the Bolshevik take-over of power in Russia in 1917 and was the architect and first leader of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
He was also a great teacher of workers worldwide.-VNA
