Hanoi is on the eighth place after Kathmandu (Nepal) and Sapporo (Japan), which are also in Asia.
Among Hanoi ’s 85 destinations, ancient streets have received thehighest mark of 4.5/5 and such praises as “a must-come place”, “awonderful destination to wander and go shopping” and “never tired ofwalking around the area”.
“Thecharming Vietnamese capital has aged well, preserving the Old Quarters,monuments and colonial architecture, while making room for moderndevelopments alongside, but it hasn't forgotten its past. Lakes, parks,shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appealof this city”, said the world’s largest travel website.
This is the second time Hanoi has been listed on the mostattractive destinations in the world. Readers of the Smart TravelAsia magazine also selected Hanoi as one of the top ten attractivedestinations in Asia in September 2013, reflecting the efforts ofmunicipal authorities and the tourism sector to create a civilised,safe, and friendly tourism environment to attract foreign visitors.
The number of foreigners visiting Hanoicontinues to increase despite the slower rise in foreign tourists toother destinations in the country, due in large part to the economiccrisis.
