The Hanoi health service has set up five mobile response teams that are working around the clock to fight against avian influenza H7N9.

Accordingly, the mobile units must respond to outbreaks within 30 minutes of receiving an order .

Equipped with first aid equipment and medicines, they are also tasked with guiding technical skills in diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

As Hanoi’s leading hospital in the treatment of infectious diseases, including avian influenza H7N9, Dong Da Hospital is actively taking measures to promptly detect suspected cases.

It also works with the epidemic supervision system to isolate and zone off infection-prone areas and assign staff to work day and night.

In coordination with the Hanoi Centre for Preventive Health Care and Dong Anh district Public Medical Centre, the Northern Thang Long hospital will isolate suspected cases and treat bird flu patients.

In Noi Bai international airport alone, two infrared body temperature measuring machines and two isolation rooms are in place. Anyone showing symptoms of H7N9 or H5N1 will be isolated and admitted to hospitals for treatment.

On top of this, the Hanoi emergency centre 115 is on duty 24 hours a day at the airport to take patients to hospitals when necessary.

Hoang Duc Hanh, Deputy Director of the municipal Health Department, urged relevant agencies to remain vigilant as the risk of infection is very high.-VNA
