A rehearsal on providing emergency aid and resolving medical situations was held in Hanoi on October 25 as an effort to prepare for the 3 rd Asian Indoor Games.

The rehearsal, organised by the Ministry of Health, Hanoi municipal People’s Committee and the Medical and Anti-Doping Sub-committee, focused on giving first aid to 30 victims supposed to be invalid by extreme fans at the My Dinh Stadium.

Vice Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Xuyen said that more efforts have been made to ensure food hygiene and safety and combat pandemics especially as the number of A/H1N1 influenza and petechial fever victims is increasing.

The Ministry also called on relevant agencies and medical establishments at the venues of the games to ensure the preparedness for medical emergency, health examination and treatment and Doping checks.

The 3rd Asian Indoor Games will be organised in Vietnam from October 30 to November 9 with the participation of over 5,000 athletes, officials and journalists from 45 countries and territories.

The venues of the Games, the first of its kind so far, will be Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the northern provinces of Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and Hai Phong./.
