Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade has withdrawn the licences of 106 foreign businesspeople’s representative offices in the city in an effort to correct this form of establishments’ operations.

The licences were revoked because of their expiry without a renewal proposal, non-operation six months after granted a licence, non-operation for six months without notice to concerned agencies and failure to periodically report on operations in two consecutive years.

Along with withdrawing licences, the Department has also required foreign businessmen and their representative offices to implement their tax obligations.

The representative offices that had their licences revoked were from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, the US, Germany, France and Denmark.-VNA
