Calligraphy artists and Confucian scholars are gathering on the street adjoining the Temple of Literature as the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival season enters its final stretch.

They offer calligraphy works in both Chinese and Vietnamese characters for people to buy and adorn their homes or as gifts, invoking prosperity and happiness for the upcoming Year of the Snake.

Special classes in the art of calligraphy are also offered, and even children can participate in them.

The street will remain busy till the middle of the first lunar month (February 24).-VNA
