Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi will suspend all non-essential services, including restaurants (only takeaways accepted) and hair salons, as well as entertainment activities, physical exercises and large gatherings in parks, gardens and public locations from 0:00 on July 13.

It is part of an urgent dispatch issued by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh on July 12 on the determination to implement COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

From July 13, all people from Ho Chi Minh City and pandemic-hit areas must declare to local authorities, and must be quarantined at home in 14 days as regulated by the Health Ministry.

If having symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat and loss of taste, they are advised to report to local authorities and the nearest medical clinics.

The People’s Committees of districts and towns should intensify communications, and strictly punish any violations.

The city leader also assigned the municipal Department of Public Security to control all people and vehicles from/to the city at checkpoints. People who return to the capital from places considered COVID-19 hotspots must provide negative coronavirus test results before entry within three days of their arrival.
