The seventh session of Hanoi 14th People’s Council wrapped up on July 6, putting forth measures to fulfill the set targets in the second half of the year.

According to Chairman of the People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao, the city will implement seven groups of solutions to remove difficulties for businesses in terms of capital, interest rates, markets and conditions for enterprises to seek loans.

The city will continue to issue policies to support and encourage agricultural and rural development, Thao said, stressing the need to implement short-term “intelligent growth” measures with focus on trade, service and tourism to strengthen the economy.

Hanoi should also practise thrift as part of measures to increase budget collection, he said, adding that in the last six months of the year, the municipal People’s Committee will cut regular expenses by another 10 percent.

The mayor laid special emphasis on the implementation of administrative procedure reforms, ensuring that they are conducted in a transparent and open manner, facilitating businesses and local people.

Regarding the implementation of the Law on the Capital City , the Chairman asked relevant branches and agencies to popularise the law to the public and put it into practice timely.-VNA
