Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi and Iran’s capital city of Tehran on November 29 inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on friendship and cooperation between the two cities.

The signing was made following a meeting between Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao and visiting Tehran’s governor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on November 29 in Hanoi .

During the talks, Thao said that the Tehran delegation’s visit, which immediately followed the recent visit by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, manifests a vivid illustration for the cooperative ties between the two cities in particular and the two countries in general.

On his part, the Iranian official said that the Iranian President’s visit to Vietnam on November 9-10 has created an impetus for further cooperation between the two countries.

Tehran is willing to help and share experience with Hanoi during the process of construction and development, the governor added.

Later, the Iranian official was received by Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Council Ngo Thi Doan Thanh.-VNA
