HCM City (VNA) - The International Exhibition on Machineries and Technologies of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery (Vietnam Growtech 2020) will take place at the Hanoi International Exhibition Centre (ICE) from October 28 to 30.

The exhibition will be jointly organised by the Adpex JSC, the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation Development (NATEC), the Agro Processing and Market Development Authority (Agrotrade), and the Vietnam Climate Innovation Centre (VCIC).

On display will be machinery, equipment, and tools for planting, harvesting, storage, packaging, and processing.

Held as a business-to-business matching (B2B Matching) forum, the expo offers a venue for businesses to introduce the latest and most advanced technology and equipment and seek partners and markets for their products, technologies, and services.

It also aims to promote technology transfer and links between foreign and domestic enterprises.
Within the framework will be seminars and trade connection activities.

According to a report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, mechanisation in agriculture is now being widely applied. The number of combine harvesters, tractors, and farm produce dryers rose 79 percent, 48 percent, and 29 percent, respectively, over the course of the last decade. The country has 7,803 mechanical enterprises and nearly 100 establishments manufacturing agricultural machinery and equipment.

At an online conference on promoting the development of agricultural mechanisation in the context of Industry 4.0, held in February, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasised the need to invest in engineering and support industries for the agricultural sector./.
