The Vietnam information and communication technology (ITC) summit will be held in Hanoi later this month, drawing about 600 leaders of State agencies, and domestic and foreign economic groups, scientists, experts and journalists.

This year event organised by the Vietnam Software Association (VINASA) will discuss the application of ICT in creating a breakthrough to raise the competitive capacity of the nation, localities and enterprises.

The event will take place under the sponsors of the Ministry of Information and Communications under the Prime Minister’s recent approval.

The Prime Minister also asked relevant ministries and organisations to support the VINASA to organise the summit.

In 2014, VINASA in collaboration with the Asian-Oceania Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) held the biggest annual event of the regional software, IT and communications industry under the theme of “ICT: The new paradigm in socio-economic development and agricultural restructuring”

The event, attracting about 700 domestic and international participants, helped speed up the development of the Vietnamese IT industry, as well as the country's economy and society, and create a new mark for Vietnam in the IT industry.-VNA
