The Hanoi chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held talks with the Vientiane chapter of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union on April 8 in Hanoi to discuss future cooperation activities and exchanges.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary of the Vientiane youth union committee Soumaly Thammavong spoke highly of young Hanoians’ voluntary services in Vientiane over the past six years.

Hanoi youths expect to intensify voluntary activities in the Lao city this July, focusing on providing free health care services, transfering agricultural techniques and distributing learning equipment.

Besides, both cities’ youth unions agreed to enhance friendly exchanges in order to promptly share information and raise the effectiveness of cooperation programmes.

The Hanoi youth union will hold annual training courses for young Lao cadres and facilitate economic links between the two cities’ enterprises run by young entrepreneurs.

In July, the Hanoi union will send IT experts to Vientiane to help its young cadres run a website that was established with the support of the Vietnamese side in 2012.-VNA
