The Hanoi People Association was inaugurated at a congress in Berlin, Germany, on June 12.
The association received congratulations from Hanoi’s vice mayor Ngo Thi Thanh Hang and Director of the Hanoi Foreign Affairs Department Ha Van Que. In his message, Que said is all the more significant as Hanoians are preparing for the celebration of the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
The association also adopted orientations for its future activities, including providing free consultations and translations to its members and organising seminars on doing business and rearing children as well as activities to mark the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and other big festivals of Hanoi and the country.
Earlier, on June 10, the Trang An People Club was set up also in Berlin . (Trang An, the name of an ancient Chinese capital city, is used in Vietnamese to refer to the capital city of Thang Long-Hanoi figuratively.)
