Ho Chi Minh City will do its utmost to accelerate its relationship with Belgium’s Namur province, according to municipal people’s committee chairman Le Hoang Quan.
At the reception for Namur’s governor Denis Mathen on March 25, Quan voiced pleasure at the development of the relationships between Vietnam and Belgium in general, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Namur in particular, adding that the projects funded with Belgian official development assistance (ODA) in the city have yielded effective results.
Ho Chi Minh City and Namur can cooperate in a wide range of areas including economy, science, culture, education and tourism, Quan noted.
The Namur’s governor he was impressed by the beauty and dynamism of Ho Chi Minh City, adding that this is his first trip to Vietnam to foster the economic ties between the two countries, in the context of 40th anniversary of the Vietnam – Belgium diplomatic ties.
The good results of the two countries’ coopearation projects, particularly those in Ho Chi Minh City, would contribute to fostering the cooperation and relations between the city and Namur province in the coming time, Mathen said.-VNA
