Visiting Deputy Speaker of the Polish Parliament Jerzy Wenderlich hassuggested Ho Chi Minh City increases its ties with Poland to make iteasier for both sides’ businesses to expand partnerships.
At a working session with the city’s Investment and Trade PromotionCentre (ITPC) on December 19, the Deputy Speaker commented that Ho ChiMinh City is a big economic centre and it should work to connectVietnamese and Polish businesses.
ITPC Director PhoNam Phuong said her centre can launch trade promotion trips for bothVietnamese and Polish businesspeople who wish to explore respectiveinvestment opportunities.
She assured that the ITPCwill support Polish investors coming to the city in processing allnecessary procedures to establish long-term business.
At present, HCM City sees the presence of only one Polish companycalled COMARCH, which specialises in software solutions and computers.
According to Jerzy Wenderlich, the PolishBusinesspeople Association has a number of members who are interested ininvesting in Vietnam.
In the meantime, Polish investors have mostly pumped money into Vietnam’s northern provinces, he said.
He added that the Polish authorities will pay attention to and provideassistance for their businesses seeking investment partnerships in thesouthern region, in particular Ho Chi Minh City.
HCMCity is home to Tan Son Nhat airport, which handles about 17 millionpassengers a year. It also houses representative offices and bankbranches of 60 countries and territories worldwide.
The city plans to have 24 industrial, export processing zones by 2020.
The Polish Deputy Speaker visited Vietnam from December 17 to seek to further enhance bilateral legislative ties.-VNA
