Ho Chi Minh City always attaches importance to boosting cooperation with Laos, especially Champassak province, the sister locality of HCM City.
Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of HCM City’s Party Committee, made the remark while receiving Sonsay Siphandone, Champassak governor and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, in HCM City on Oct. 19.
Hai also pledged to help Champassak to cooperate with other localities of Vietnam .
Sonsay Siphandone praised HCM City for its achievements in socio-economic development. He affirmed that Champassak needs Ho Chi Minh City ’s assistance in agriculture, industry, healthcare, education, infrastructure construction, sports, telecom and personnel training.
The same day, the Lao national airline announced the open of the new service from Vientiane-Pakse (Champassak)- HCM City . The route will have three flights a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday using ATR and MA planes.
The new route is expected to contribute to boosting trade and tourism between Vietnam and Laos , particularly HCM City and Champassak./.
