Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of HCM City’s Party Committee, made the remarkwhile receiving Sonsay Siphandone, Champassak governor and Secretary ofthe provincial Party Committee, in HCM City on Oct. 19.

Hai also pledged to help Champassak to cooperate with other localities of Vietnam .

SonsaySiphandone praised HCM City for its achievements insocio-economic development. He affirmed that Champassak needs Ho ChiMinh City ’s assistance in agriculture, industry, healthcare,education, infrastructure construction, sports, telecom and personneltraining.

The same day, the Lao national airline announced theopen of the new service from Vientiane-Pakse (Champassak)- HCM City .The route will have three flights a week on Tuesday, Thursday andSaturday using ATR and MA planes.

The new route is expected tocontribute to boosting trade and tourism between Vietnam and Laos ,particularly HCM City and Champassak./.
