HCM City committed to boosting cooperation between Vietnamese, Indonesian enterprises

HCM City (VNA) – Chairman of the Ho Chi MinhCity People’s Committee Phan Van Mai on March 14 said that the city iscommitted to being a responsible partner and actively facilitating cooperation between businesses of Vietnam and Indonesia, particularly smalland medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups.

Mai made the statement when receiving Arsjad Rasjid,Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) who isvisiting Vietnam.

He said that Vietnam and Indonesianeed to strengthen cooperation at the government and locality levels and between businesses toimplement the five priorities that Indonesia chose for its ASEAN chairmanshipyear.

The official said that SMEs and startups in the two countries cancooperate in digital transformation, digital finance, and e-banking.

Playing an importantrole in the region's agricultural production development chain and a healthcarecentre in the southern region of Vietnam, HCM City is ready to join andshare experience with Indonesian partners in food security, healthcare anddisease response, Mai said. 

He added that the city hopes to promote cooperationwith Indonesia in human resource training, and people-to-people diplomacy tojointly contribute to the development of Vietnam-Indonesia relations and theASEAN community.

For his part,Rasjid expressed his impression of the dynamic and strong development of HCM City.

He emphasised thatas the ASEAN Chair this year, Indonesia hopes to further strengthen traderelations with ASEAN members, especially Vietnam, including HCM City, because the population of two countries accounts for a large proportionof the bloc.

Rasjid said Indonesiaand Vietnam have favourable conditions to strengthen cooperation in areasincluding those relating to SMEs, carbon emission reduction, food security,medical research, and production./.

Party building work prioritises clean, shared data in digital transformation push

Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of its Organisation Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc urged provinces and cities to review legal frameworks, decentralisation mechanisms, assigned tasks and administrative procedures, while ensuring synchronisation between local infrastructure systems and the central platform, including equipment, cybersecurity solutions and resource allocation.

Party, State leader calls for consolidation of central steering committees on legal, judicial reform

Consolidating the central steering committees for institutional and legal reform and for judicial reform is necessary in order to streamline organisational structures without reducing responsibilities, while ensuring clear accountability, measurable outputs and concrete results. Following the restructuring, the body will be renamed the central steering committee for institutional improvement and law enforcement, with the Party General Secretary and State President serving as its head.

Reform drive expected to remove barriers, unlock growth momentum

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung recently ordered ministries and agencies to immediately cut at least 30% of administrative procedures, 50% of processing time, 50% of compliance costs and 30% of business conditions, while eliminating all unnecessary procedures.

Hanoi, Vientiane promote comprehensive cooperation in new phase

The capitals of Vietnam and Laos signed memoranda of understanding on joint work in the fields of public communication and mass mobilisation, women and youth affairs, foreign relations, industry and trade, education and health care.
