Phnom Penh (VNA) – A delegation of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City provided free health checks and medicines along with gifts to needy people in the Cambodian province of Battambang on April 25.

The activity, which was conducted in Battambang city in coordination with the Vietnamese General Consulate in Cambodia’s Battambang province, benefited around 500 overseas Vietnamese and Cambodians.

The charity trip in Cambodia is an annual task assigned by the HCM City People’s Committee to the municipal Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, out of the care for overseas Vietnamese and Cambodians in disadvantaged circumstances in Cambodia.

The delegation took the occasion of the working trip to inform local overseas Vietnamese on the latest policies of the Vietnamese Party and State on overseas Vietnamese, and to cement the friendship between Vietnamese and Cambodians.-VNA
