HCM City helps Muslims to feel at home

Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Minh Tri stated this while receiving a delegation from Saudi Arabia ’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, on April 5.

At the reception, Tri said that the Muslim community in HCM City , which numbers only 5,500, has made many important contributions to enriching and diversifying the cultural identities of the city in particular.

He praised the municipal Muslim community’s activities, especially in charitable work, poverty reduction and education.

He confirmed that the city will provide better conditions for the community, particularly improving the quality of educational services for Muslim children.

The leader of the Saudi Arabian delegation, Dr. Abduallah Fahad Allehaidan, Advisor to the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, said he is pleased to see the high living standards of Muslims in HCM City.

He said he hoped that the city will provide more support for the Muslim community so that it can promote the Vietnamese-Saudi Arabian relationship.

During their stay in HCM City, the Saudi Arabian delegation met with representatives of the Muslim communities in Vietnam and HCM City as well as attended a reading of the Koran in mosques in Districts 1 and 8.-VNA
