HCM City (VNA) – The seventh International Exhibition and Conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology (HortEx Vietnam 2025) kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on March 12, expecting more than 15,000 visitors.

The three-day event, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC), has attracted 303 exhibitors and nearly 400 brands from 30 countries and territories, including Austria, India, Belgium, Germany, Ecuador, the Netherlands, Israel, the US, Japan, and France.

Nguyen Ba Vinh, Director of Minh Vi Exhibition & Advertisement Services Co., Ltd (VEAS), a member of the organising board, said that HortEx Vietnam has established itself as the largest international trade event in Vietnam, focused on the vegetable, flower, and fruit sectors. The exhibition not only provides Vietnamese businesses with access to advanced technology but also plays a key role in connecting trade, expanding domestic markets, and promoting exports, he said.

Along with international exhibitors, HortEx Vietnam 2025 also serves as a gathering place for businesses, cooperatives, and agricultural producers from more than 16 provinces and cities across Vietnam, providing an excellent opportunity for local enterprises to exchange knowledge, learn from international experience, access new technologies, and expand their markets.

Alongside showcasing products and technologies at their booths, HortEx Vietnam 2025 is hosting a B2B & VIP Buyer networking programme, facilitating direct meetings between businesses, potential buyers, distributors, retailers, and importers in the vegetable, flower, and fruit sectors to expand market reach. The event also includes specialised workshops, export forums, and flower industry seminars to help businesses stay updated on industry trends and information for their production and trade activities.

Running concurrently with HortEx Vietnam 2025, AGRITECHNICA ASIA, the leading trade fair for crop production and smart farming in Asia. This marks the first time the agricultural technology exhibition has been held in Vietnam, focusing on sustainable products, processes, and farming models designed to address major challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and market pressures.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam said that agriculture has continued to play a vital role as the backbone of Vietnam's economy, contributing significantly to macroeconomic stability. The agricultural product export market has expanded, with total exports reaching over 62 billion USD. The industry has also undergone a significant shift toward agricultural economy, increasing added value, and moving from traditional farming (brown agriculture) to green agriculture, while promoting the adoption of mechanised and integrated production processes, he noted.

Nam said that Vietnam’s hosting of AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2025 helps to connect manufacturers and distributors with farmers and organisations applying mechanisation in agriculture. This is an essential initiative identified by the agricultural sector to move towards a green, modern, and sustainable agriculture, he added.

AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2025 not only connects experts and businesses but also benefits farmers and cooperatives, with over 500 farmers being given the opportunity to explore advanced technologies and solutions on the first day of the exhibition./.
