source amid several cases of lost radioactive device.

The municipal Department of Science and Technology and the IC Design Research and Education Centre (ICDREC) were named to carry out the work, starting on April 8, at an urgent meeting held on April 7 to deal with the issue.
Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Manh Ha said this is not the first time the People’s Committee has asked for the installation of positioning devices on radioactive equipment.
On September 15, 2014, the Apave Asia-Pacific Company – Ho Chi Minh City branch lost its radioactive device. The lost device was found after a four-day search.
Following the incident, units that used radioactive-contained equipment in work were requested to attach a positioning device to the equipment but have not yet done, Ha revealed.
Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Khac Nam said that Ho Chi Minh City now has more than 200 devices containing radioactive source, 124 of which are mobile.-VNA
