During a meeting with JerzyWenderlich, Deputy Marshal of the Polish Parliament’s Lower House (Sejm)on December 18 in Ho Chi Minh City , Chairwoman of the Ho Chi MinhCity People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam briefed the guest on thesocio-economic situation as well as advantages and challenges that thecity faces.
She said Ho Chi Minh City , one ofthe country’s economic, cultural and social hubs, contributes average 30percent of the national budget. The city also welcomes more than 50percent of the total number of foreign visitors to Vietnam , shenoted.
However, Ho Chi Minh City is facing manychallenges, especially in urban traffic, she said, asking for moresupport from the Polish side to improve the situation.
Additionally, she proposed that Poland encourage its investors and localities to foster cooperation with the city.
Wenderlich said he is impressed by the development of Ho Chi Minh City .
Poland is willing to support Vietnam in the environmentalprotection, especially in improving the water and air environment, hesaid.
He also pledged to create all favourableconditions for Polish businesses to explore investment opportunities inHo Chi Minh City.-VNA
