The sky over Ho Chi Minh City sparkled with fireworks in 15 minutes on the night of April 30 to cheer the 36 th anniversary of Liberation of South Vietnam and the 125 th International Labour Day.

A series of cultural events and art performances were also held at cultural centres, parks and public sites in the city to herald the April 30 victory that stands as a shining symbol of the nation’s revolutionary heroism and one of the most outstanding events of the 20th century.

An open-air photo exhibition themed “ Ho Chi Minh City : firm belief – development and integration” is taking place at Lam Son and Chi Lang parks and along Dong Khoi street .
