HCM City marks French Independence Day

At the function, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Chapter of the Vietnam-France Friendship Association, Duong Quang Trung sent his best wishes to the French people.

According to Trung, the multi-faceted cooperation between HCM City and France, particularly Lyon and Rhone-Alpes regions, has seen favourable developments.

At present, French investors, businesses and non-government organisations are taking part in humanitarian projects and other projects in economics, culture, education, society, healthcare, HIV/AIDS prevention and control, and environment that have made practical contributions to the city’s development, he said.

In addition, France was also involved in major construction, traffic and telecom projects in many cities and provinces of Vietnam.

On the occasion of the celebration of the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, a number of renowned French artists will come to Vietnam for concerts and cultural exchange, Trung said./.
