An array of programmes are taking place in Ho Chi Minh City with the aim of increasing year-end consumer demand as the Lunar New Year festival is nearing.

Some 150 businesses are showcasing their consumer goods, household utensils, handicrafts, garments, cosmetics, and processed food at a six-day fair of prestigious trademarks that was opened on November 29.

To protect businesses and consumers’ rights, the event also displays genuine and fake goods to help visitors differentiate between them and offers consultancy on intellectual property and brand infringement prevention. A workshop on the issue will be also held.

From December 1-31, the municipal Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Industry and Trade will organise a shopping programme at Crescent Mall Trade Centre in District 7.

About 500 businesses will showcase a wide range of commodities and services at nearly 1,000 outlets during the event with discounts of up to 50 percent.-VNA
