HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City hopes for cooperation with Germany’s Frankfurt city, especially in the exchange of experience in social issues, in urban construction and development, Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen told visiting Mayor Peter Feldmann on November 8.

Nen thanked the German Government and people for their aid to Vietnam and HCM City in particular in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

HCM City has carried out an array of activities to boost the Vietnam-German relations, especially in investment and trade, he said, adding that the southern metropolis is working to ensure economic development and social stability and control the pandemic at the same time.

For his part, Feldmann said he hopes that HCM City and Frankfurt will step up collaboration in trade and delegation exchange in the time ahead.

He suggested HCM City roll out joint projects with Frankfurt and Leipzig city, which has reached a partnership with HCM City, in such areas as aviation, waterway transportation, and IT./.
