The Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies (HIDS), in conjunction with its counterpart in Seoul, held a seminar on March 28 to exchange experience in urban planning between the two cities.

During the event, participants discussed issues related to city and transport planning in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as Seoul’s experience in dealing with these issues.

HIDS head Nguyen Trong Hoa noted that during their development process, all major cities, including Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul, have to face challenges in urban improvement, overcoming environmental pollution and climate change.

Therefore, strengthening cooperation between cities in solving these issues is essential, he said.

Delegates also proposed intensifying ties between Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul and discussed feasible opportunities for research connections between the two institutes.-VNA
