HCM City spring festival salutes New Year
A spring festival featuring art performances is underway in Ho Chi Minh City to welcome the New Year 2014.

A spring festival featuring art performances is underway in Ho Chi Minh City to welcome the New Year 2014.
Crowds flocked to downtown on the New Year Eve to enjoy the festive atmosphere along well decorated roads such as Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Le Loi, and Nguyen Hue.
The highlight of the festival was a special art performance entitled “Ho Chi Minh City – my love” held in Park 23/9 and Ben Nghe-Tau Hu channel of District 1, staring many famous singers including Ho Ngoc Ha, Le Quyen, Phuong Linh and Hien Thuc.
Ten of thousands of people, especially youngsters, attended the event.
At the Semicircle Lake in Phu My Hung urban area, District 7, more than 100 artists from around the word wearing fancy costumes took part in a New Year carnival.
Citizens and tourists also got together at the lake to join a countdown to the New Year while others contemplated a 15-minute firework performance near Saigon River tunnel in District 2.
A string of art performances were also held at industrial zones and student dormitories across the city in celebration for the year 2014.-VNA
