HCM City to hold int’l theatre fest
The first international theatre schools festival will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 5 to 10.
The first international theatre schools festival will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 5 to 10.
The event is expected to draw 120 representatives and students from 15 professional theatre schools in 10 countries and territories throughout Asia and the Pacific, including Australia , Mongolia , Singapore , Indonesia , the Republic of Korea and Taiwan.
As many as 10 plays will be performed together with experience exchange workshops in theatrical acting skills and writing scripts. All the activities will take place in the HCM City Dance School and Theatre at 5B Vo Van Tan Street.
The shows and exchange workshops are open only to special guest, journalists and students from theatre schools.
Director Le Quy Duong, head of the organising board, said the event aims to create a change for participants to share experience and further coordinate to develop regional theatrical arts.
The festival has been organised with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the HCM City Stage Artists Association, and the HCM City Dance School and Theatre.-VNA
