It is studying a system of permits to buy cars, similar to the one in Singapore , and will submit it to the Government for approval once it is drafted.
It also plans to increase registration fees, slap an entry toll on cars in the downtown area, prohibit certain vehicles like large buses and taxis from several roads on designated days, and issue licences for using roads and pavements.
The city will work closely with the Ministry of Transport for finalising the measures.-VNA
