– Ho Chi Minh City hopes to cooperate with and receive support from overseasresources, including French-speaking countries and their localities, to addresschallenges such as urban traffic, environmental pollution and climate change,said a local official.

Vice Chairman ofthe HCM City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem made the statement whilereceiving a delegation of young Francophone parliamentarians led by Didier LeBot, General Secretary of the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF).

Liem told hisguests that relations between Vietnam and French-speaking nations have beendeveloping strongly, bringing practical benefits to Vietnam, including HCM City.

He spoke highlyof the active cooperation between young APF parliamentarians and Vietnam ingeneral, and HCM City in particular, saying that it has benefited both sides.

Liem expressedhis hope that they will continue assisting the city in the fields of culture,education, health, and high technology.

On behalf of thedelegation, Didier Le Bot highly evaluated the dynamism and responsibleparticipation of Vietnam in the APF, particularly its efforts in hosting anumber of APF conferences.

He expressed hishope that the city will expand exchanges and cooperation, and share experiencein socio-economic development with localities of Francophone countries.-VNA

Politburo member Nguyen Van Nen, who is also a standing member of the subcommittee responsible for drafting the Congress documents, said one of the most important and breakthrough innovations in document crafting is the early rollout of new policy decisions and strategies before the Congress convenes. These have been tested in practice and refined through lessons drawn from 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal), before being distilled and embedded into the draft documents for consideration and adoption at the landmark gathering.
