A Ho Chi Minh City leader has pledged that the city will share experience and work with Vanuatu on areas of common interest, especially agriculture, aqua farming and swallow breeding.

At a reception for visiting Vanuatu Prime Minister Joe Natuman on October 10, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan said the city is keen on expanding cooperation with other countries around the globe, including Vanuatu.

He held that during the past two decades, Vietnam and Vanuatu have enjoyed a growing relationship. They have also supported each other at bilateral and multilateral forums.

Joe Natuman expressed his impression at the dynamic development of Ho Chi Minh City as well as the important role it plays in the country’s development.

Apart from cooperation within the framework of French speaking countries, the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding on technical and development partnership will open up a new prospect for the two countries to beef up their ties in agriculture and health care, he noted.

He said he believes that the cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Vanuatu will further develop in the future, particularly in trade and investment.-VNA
