Ho Chi Minh City will do its utmost to strengthen and consolidate the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Le Thanh Hai affirmed that at a June 20 reception for the visiting First Vice President of the Council of State and Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba, Miguel Diaz Canel.
He expressed his belief that Miguel Diaz Canel’s visit will help deepen the intensive and extensive cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, the Cuban guest stressed that the Cuba-Vietnam relationship is a special and traditional one that will be everlasting. Through this visit, Cuba reaffirms its wish to further tighten the fraternity between the two Parties and peoples.
He said his visit aims to accelerate and complete the signing of economic cooperation agreements between the two countries, creating a foundation for both sides to boost cooperation in trade, investment, telecommunications, and oil and gas exploitation.
Cuba wants to exchange experience with Vietnam in educating political thoughts for young generations as well as the Party’s role in managing and guiding the development of communications and the Internet, he noted.
The same day, Miguel Diaz Canel and his entourage visited several economic establishments and the museum of war remnants in HCM City.-VNA
