Hanoi (VNA) - The Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh City has seized over 18 kilos of ecstasy pills, 124 grams of cocaine and 458 grams of cannabis, illegally hidden in parcels, including envelopes and packs of confectionary.

The drugs, worth about 60 billion (2.56 million USD), were dispatched from Europe to Vietnam in 16 parcels via post on April 27 and 28.

The customs’ verification showed that all of the parcels had fake addresses or no recipient.

Dinh Ngoc Thang, head of the customs department, said the suspects were allegedly in contact with each other via social networks to avoid attention of the authorised agencies.

The local authorised agencies are investigating the case./.
