One person was killed and seven others were injured in a collision between two coaches carrying Vietnamese nationals in Laos’s central province of Salavan on October 5.

At the time of the accident – around 10:30 am, the 45-seat coach with 15 Vietnamese citizens had just arrived in Laos while the 16-seat car carrying eight tourists was returning to Vietnam from Laos’s Champasak province.

Poor visibility due to heavy rain was initially blamed for the head-on collision in Nongphet village, according to the Vietnamese Consulate General in Laos’s southern provinces.

All of the victims were brought to Quang Tri province in central Vietnam in the afternoon of the same day.

The Consulate General is currently working with local authorities to settle the incident.-VNA
