On June 12, more than 93,000 students in Hanoi participated in the high school entrance exam for the school year 2021-2022.

Heavy rain at the beginning of the day made the air in the capital cooler. But it also caused some difficulties for students when they come to exam sites.

At many exam sites, schools have mobilized young volunteers, who use umbrellas to cover and welcome students. Volunteers also help students to have a good spirit before the exam.

To ensure safety against the COVID-19 epidemic, students must submit a medical declaration before entering the exam room and have their body temperature checked, their hands disinfected at the school gate.

The closer to the exam time, the more stable the weather becomes. Then finally, the rain has stopped and the air is cool. At exactly 8:30 a.m., students started the exam with 2 subjects: Literature and Foreign Language.

This year's high school entrance exam is considered a hard test for Hanoi students when enrollment quotas are limited. Only 72% of the students will have a place at Hanoi's public schools.

According to data from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in 2021, the whole city has 93.362 students registered for the exam while the total enrollment quota is 67.446 students.

This is also the group of students who had to miss three months of school because of the COVID-19 epidemic in the 2019-2020 school year. They can't go to school for a while when the epidemic re-emerges in the school year 2020-2021./.
