Considered the most important highway in Vietnam, National Highway No 1 runs through half of the provinces and cities in the country, linking Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
The 40km section running through the central province of Quang Nam will be expanded with an investment of over 1.6 trillion VND (80 million USD).
Attending the ground breaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that the expansion would help reduce traffic accidents and boost socio-economic development in the province and the central region as a whole.-VNA
