The Kim Dong Cinema reopened on September 18 at 19 Hang Bai Street, Hanoi, on the occasion of the 1,000th anniversary of the capital.

With an area of nearly 1,000 sq.m, the 6-storey construction is equipped with a 4D projection room with 40 seats – the first in Hanoi, as well as 3D and 2D projection rooms with a capacity of 625.

The 8.6 million USD construction was managed by PetroVietnam Construction Investment Consultant JSC and constructed by Song Hong PetroVietnam Trade and Investment JSC. The complex is a gift from the PetroVietnam Group to the Hanoi People's Committee on the occasion of the city's birthday.

Hanoi Party Secretary Pham Quang Nghi thanked PetroVietnam for the generous gift and said he expects that it will become a high quality cultural centre for the city's youth and tourists.

Kim Dong used to be a children's cinema but was closed in the 1980s due to degradation and a lack of investment./.
