Ho Chi Minh City leader congratulates Buddhists

On behalf of the municipal authorities, Nhan extended congratulations to Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers.

She said that the socio-economic achievements the city has made can be attributed to the effort made by the city’s administration, Party committee and people, including the contributions made by Buddhists.

The municipal authorities highly value the charitable activities conducted by the Buddhists, she said, while expressing her hopes that Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers would continue to contribute to the city’s development.

Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, the deputy head of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board and Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board, said that Buddha’s birthday this year coincides with the 120 th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth and 1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi, two of the country’s most important events.

This should encourage Buddhists to continue to contribute to society and the country’s development, he said./.
