Ho Chi Minh City team came first at the 2013 National Bodybuilding Championships which took place in the northern city of Hai Phong from Nov. 29-Dec. 1.

The team brought home five gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

Agifish An Giang from the southern province of An Giang followed with four golds, one silver and six bronzes.

The third place belonged to Hanoi team with three gold, four silver and three bronze medals.

A total of 80 athletes from 11 cities and provinces joined in the competitions, which were divided into four weight categories for men and two categories for women.

Bodybuilding has seen a fast development in Vietnam, with local athletes winning top places at continental and world events. Most recently, the Vietnamese team brought home one gold and two silver medals from the fifth World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships, which took place from November 12-18 in Hungary.-VNA
