Within its framework, a seminar was heldin Melbourne on February 24 and the other in Sydney on February 27, withthe participation of Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Luong ThanhNghi and representatives from the national flag carrier, VietnamAirlines.
Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh CityPeople’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong briefed participants on outstandingfeatures of Vietnam’s land and people as well as cultural identities ofthe country and the city in particular.
She called on the two countries’ travel agencies to intensify exchange and boost cooperation.
Meanwhile,Vietnam Airlines representatives highlighted aviation services betweenthe two countries. The carrier now runs two direct routes linking Ho ChiMinh City with Melbourne and Sydney.
Vietnam is now the 11 th most attractive destination for Australians, with around 240,000 arrivals annually.
This tourism promotion programme also saw the participation ofVietnamese top travel companies, like Vietnam Peace Tour, Saigon TouristTravel and Blue Sky Travel.-VNA
