A ceremony was held on December 10 in Ho Chi Minh City to welcome the seven millionth visitor to the southern hub. The event also aims at promoting the city as a friendly, attractive and safe destination.

The seven millionth visitor, Tissot Jean Claude arrived at Ho Chi Minh City in a Vietnam Airlines flight from Paris. 

The welcome ceremony for the seven millionth visitor in 2018 is among the events marking the 320th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City. Through the event, the southern city launched a tourism promotion programme and introduced eight signature tours promoting historical values of Ho Chi Minh City.

Local officials said to attract more tourists, extend their length of stay and increase their spending, Ho Chi Minh City will continue holding tourism events and improving capacity of human resources. The city has also paid heed to developing tourism products to attain its goal of being a friendly, attractive and safe destination.-VNA
